UEFA was established in June 1954. The giant of the football associations was initially located in the state of

The year 1958 turned out to be the turning point for European football. In that year the “European Nations’ Cup” was organized. This was a new competition for the European national teams. The finals of the matches took place in 1960. At the same time the European – South African Cup was announced. There are enormous prestigious events that occurred in the history of Union of European Football Associations. In the year 1968 the European Nations’ Cup got another name as “European Football Championship”. A different type of national competition for “Under – 23” sides was announced that time. The same competition was changed to U21 championship. The “Inter Cities Fair Cup” was completely controlled and managed by UEFA in 1971. As a result the championship got another name as UEFA Cup. Another championship named “UEFA Super Cup” was introduced in which the winning clubs of ‘Champion Clubs’ Cup’ played against each other. Later in the year 1992, the “UEFA Championship league” was introduced in place of “European Champion Clubs’ Cup”.
