Gareth Bale Out for the Season

Tottenham Hotspurs is having a great season. After striking a draw against Manchester United on Saturday and beating Arsenal 5-1 in the Carling Cup nothing more could be expected. They have reached the finals of the Carling Cup and are fairing well in the Barclays Premier League under manager Juande Ramos. But the bad news is there for the Spurs, Gareth Bale is out with an injury for the rest of the season. Sporting Director Damian Comolli has confirmed that Bale will miss the rest of the season because of a foot injury. The Wales international was sidelined last December in Tottenham’s match against Birmingham. He sprained a ligament after receiving a tackle from a Birmingham player.
Bale had a big summer signing for the spurs last season and although he is recovering fast, it is sure that he won’t be able to participate in the rest of Tottenham’s campaign this season. This is very disappointing for the Spurs but his long term fitness is a matter of top priority for the club. Spurs were expecting to play Bale at the end of the season but their hopes shattered after Bale’s cast was removed on Monday. The 18 year old defensive midfielder joined the Spurs from Southampton last season for 10 million pounds. However, Ramos believes that they will make up for his loss next season and Pascal Chimbonda would be taking Bales place in the left defense. Chimbonda showed a great game against Manchester United on Saturday and Ramos expects a lot from him in such a situation.
