Kevin Keegan Back’s Michael Owen

Kevin Keegan claims that Michael Owen can be Fabio Capello’s right choice if he is picked to play for the England squad against Switzerland. Even though Owen has not performed very well for the Magpies, Keegan still believes that Owen can shine for England. The former Liverpool and real Madrid striker has just scored once in last 11 away games for Newcastle United, but holds the record for being the fourth highest scorer for England. He has scored 40 goals from 88 caps. He was injured and has missed last six weeks of the season. However, the ace striker is fit again and is back from the thigh injury he suffered. Keegan believes that Owen can put up a great game for the English squad next month at Wembley.
Keegan said that he is sure that Owen will make it to the England squad and also claimed that he is fit enough and will show great skills in England. Michael Owen after leaving Liverpool has not performed well in the English Premier League. He even tried his hand in Spain, when he was transferred from Newcastle United to Real Madrid. Anyhow, even in Spain, he was unable to put up a good performance. At that bad time, the Toons proved out to be his life savior. Newcastle United again bought the World Cup, 98 star and gave him an opportunity to play again. Keegan’s patience clearly proves that what Owen holds in the store for them.
