Robbie Keane scored his 100th goal for his club against Sunderland on Saturday. The Irish striker scored his 100th goal for Tottenham Hotspurs at White Heart Lane in a 2-0 win over Sunderland. The striker achieved this milestone in the stoppage time when he jumped over the clearance by Radek Cerny and scored past Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon. Keane is Tottenham’s favorite and has almost played all the games in his career for this club. Till now Robbie Keane had scored 16 goals in this season for Tottenham Hotspurs and in the end of the last term he netted 15 goals in 15 games.
Juande Ramos, the Tottenham manager praised Tottenham’s son and said that this achievement is not only for him but is also an achievement for the club and the Spur’s family. Ramos also was relieved after gaining three points from Sunderland because Sunderland had applied a lot of pressure. The Spaniard said that this match was rather a very strange match, as in the first half Tottenham had all the opportunities and in the second half Sunderland had all the Opportunities.
However, the 2-0 victory cannot only be attributed to Robbie Keane as the Tottenham account of goals was opened up by Aaron Lennon in the second minutes. The powerful shot by Lennon fired past Sunderland’s goalkeeper after he collected Jamie O’Hara’s cross from the left. This Saturday was a big day for the club as well as the family of Robbie Keane.
