Bolton has been in a hunt for players in the whole of January and has successfully executed all their targets. This was proved when Bolton signed their 3rd player in January. Portsmouth was stunned by Matt Taylor when he decided to leave Fratton Park and made a move towards the Reebok stadium. Taylor has signed a three and a half year contract with Bolton wanderers after he successfully passed a medical test and agreed on personal terms. The versatile footballer had become very frustrated with the Pompey’s after he didn’t get too many opportunities to play in the first eleven.

Matthew John Taylor was born on the 27th of November, 1981 and can play as a defender as well as a midfielder. The childhood Tottenham supporter began his career at Luton Town and has come a long way since then. He was not happy with the way he was treated at Portsmouth and the lack of chance to play in the first line up made him move to Bolton.

It is believed that there were a lot of teams behind Taylor but Bolton won the race and scored first. The Trotters were more than happy after signing Matt Taylor because of the versatility of the player. Matt is famous for playing at different positions in consecutive matches and that’s what makes him special. The Trotters Boss, Mr. Gary Megson has signed three players in just one month and that clearly indicates the financial status of the club.
