Lassana Diarra: Off To Portsmouth

Arsenal, the team which is high riding the Premier league with its young squad has released one of its players to another club. The Gunners who are equal to Manchester United in terms of points, but are behind due to the goal difference has confirmed the transfer of the French midfielder Lassana Diarra to English club Portsmouth. The news was confirmed by Arsenal’s spokesperson. However, the amount of fee for which Lassana Diarra has moved to Portsmouth has been kept undisclosed. Diarra who joined the Gunners not even a month ago after getting transferred from Chelsea made 13 appearances for Arsenal out which 7 were made in the English Premier League.
The French midfielder was born on March 10th, 1985 in the fashion capital Paris. Predominantly a defensive midfielder but also used to play in defense is a player of Malian descent. Standing at 5’8, this short player was rejected a lot of times, first from Fc Nantes and then from Lee Mans. He started his football carrier at Le Harve and earned his name when he was selected for the U-21 French squad. Later he got transferred to Chelsea in July 2005. And finally on 31st December 2007 he joined Arsenal for 2 Million Pounds
With Arsenal, Diarra also won 9 caps for his country as he made 5 international appearances for the French football team. The players influence in the English game was noticed a lot of times but making a mark with Arsen wenger’s side is a bit difficult.
