Keegan Returns to St James Park

The folks at Newcastle United have something to cheer about. After an embarrassing loss of 6-0 against league leaders Manchester United, the Toon Army is all set to regain their composure under the leadership of Kevin Keegan. Keegan has had a great record with Newcastle as a player and nobody can forget how he helped the promotion of Newcastle United from the second division in 1984. As a manager too he left no stone unturned for the toons. Keegan had even taken Newcastle to the brink of the English Premier League title.
Born on 14th of February, 1951, Joseph Kevin Keegan was an English football player and has also coached the English national squad. He created the history of English football after being selected twice as the European Footballer of The Year, and he is the only Englishmen to do so. He has played club football with big football clubs like Liverpool, Hamburg SV (German Club), Southampton and of course Newcastle United. Keegan signed with Newcastle as a manager in 1992 and resigned in 1997. Under his manager ship the toons became runners up in 1996 in the EPL.
Keegan was out of football for around 2 years after he quit the position of Boss of Manchester City in 2005. But emotional barriers broke when he was asked to head the club to whom he had given his heart nearly 20 years ago. Keegan feels he has come back home, and is determined to help the Toons to make a good comeback in the English League.
