Blackburn Defeat Derby by 2-1

David Bentley from Blackburn football club netted a perfect first half goal to declare his team as the winner as they brought Derby country football club yet to another defeat. Derby Country football club moved forward when Gilles Barnes offered a perfect pass to Matt Oakley who courageously shot through the legs of Brad Friedel the goal keeper. Brad Friedel then saved the penalty of Steve Howard after Ryan Nelsen of Blackburn football club was found to have fouled Kenny Miller of Derby Country football club. Roque Santa Cruz of Blackburn then tapped in a balance after Lewis Price the keeper dodged the shot of Benni McCarthy and that was later fired into the nets by Bentley from nearly 25 yards.

The victory was first in six matches for Blackburn and they had gained it after Mark Hughes the boss left Robbie Savege out of his team due to a tight constrain after carrying out a suspension. Benni McCarthy who had come back to the Blackburn football club after being absent for four games had turned and fired straight at Lewis Price the opposite goalkeeper before Roque Santa Cruz had though that he put his team ahead. Roque Santa Cruz headed the left wing divivery by Bentley into the nets but his efforts were not enough to earn a goal as it curled out of play. Derby Country football club were also given a chance to double their lead when Ryan Nelsen of Blackburn had fouled Kenny Miller of their team but could not perfectly angle the ball.
