The Race for Scottish Premier League Title

Rangers and the Celtic Football club will now no more aim for the seasonal slip up in the race to earn the title for the Scottish Premier League. Leaders and champions - the Celtic football club have to face a difficult trip to Dundee United football club on the Boxing Day as they have earned just six points from their last five games. The Rangers football club also missed an opportunity to get their points on a higher level after they had equaled the match 1-1 with Aberdeen football club on Sunday. The side of Walter Smith host Motherwell football club would also not have been at par with the Rangers club, if they would not loose at home to Falkirk football club.

The Rangers football club who still has two games in hand would visit Celtic Park on the 2nd of January and would play without Lee McCulloch, the international Scotland player as he was sent off at Pittodrie. Walter Smith congratulated his players for their performance against the tough club although they had to play the last 55 minutes with just 10 players. He is also looking forward to another rigid test on the following Wednesday, although the side of Mark McGhee would be rolling from the 3-0 reverse at the Fir Park. Walter Smith said that people are looking at the team as being a bottom six team who are pushing and fighting, so that they can settle a place in the European Cup this year.
